Campus Veterans Lounge
VETERANS HELPING VETERANS - PHASE TWO - DONOR MATCH OPPORTUNITY
As we begin the plans on how to convert existing space into a comfortable meeting and study space for Detroit Mercy student veterans, we have been presented with another exciting opportunity. While we are able to complete construction on the lounge itself in Phase One of our campaign, a generous donor has issued a challenge to his fellow alumni veterans to assist in jump starting Phase Two of our efforts.
For every dollar raised between now and May 30, 2019, this donor will match that gift dollar for dollar up to $30,000, essentially doubling every gift you make. This increased revenue will allow us to equip this lounge with state-of-the-art technology, comfortable furnishings and veteran friendly resources needed by our students. Let’s show our student veterans how much we appreciate and support their efforts and success as we raise our funding level up to our new goal of $75,000 to fully fund both phases of this great project.
VETERANS HELPING VETERANS - PHASE ONE - FUNDING ACHIEVED
From 1951-91, more than 4,000 cadets trained on the campus of University of Detroit and University of Detroit Mercy. Thanks to their dedication, today the University is ranked 12th in the nation for Best Colleges for Veterans by U.S. News and World Report. Using the wonderful foundation of veteran support you've already shown for our program and by working together with current ROTC students, we can build on these two achievements by creating a Veterans Lounge for student veterans allowing them a space to network with others experiencing similar challenges in pursuing collegiate success and help them connect with the resources necessary to succeed. We are striving to raise $50,000 to make this space a reality. Please join us in helping ensure the success of today’s Detroit Mercy student veterans.
